Lands Resource Management Project |
|
| |
The
Arid Lands Resource Management Project (ALRMP) is a community initiative
that enhances food security and reduces livelihood vulnerability
in drought-prone and marginalised communities in Kenya's arid and
semi-arid districts. It is managed by the Office of the President,
Department of Provincial Administration and National Security, and
uses a credit facility from the World Bank. Conceived for a period
of 15 years, the implementation is in three phases. The first phase
from 1996 to 2003 covered 11 disadvantaged districts in the ASALs.
The second from 2003 to 2009, includes an additional 10 food insecure
districts in the semi-arid areas. |
